We spoke of the little 12 year-old I’m constantly trying to impress last month and—I have to be honest here—who gets lucky enough to trek (and survive) Everest Base Camp… twice? As I sit here in my cheap little Kathmandu hotel room, nose still peeling, lips still cracked, legs weirdly fine, perhaps it hasn’t hit. Maybe it will never hit. Or maybe it will at the funniest of moments. Who knows. Still wild.
But we made it there and back once more—physically safe, mentally taxed, spiritually filled—and now I’m sifting through my hiking gear to keep here in Kathmandu for next year; with India tomorrow; with Japan a few weeks after that.
You, however, aren’t here for my wistful wo/wanderings. Who knows why you’re here? Hopefully for some adventure? Because we have that this month in spades.

And a request/plea for you to join us next year—back up to Base Camp (and my last trip there)
... as for what I'm raising money for this month, well, my previously cheap paradise of Japan (in winter) has tripled in price due to me flying in smack-dab in the middle of cherry blossom bloomings so am just trying to be able to do a few days in Tokyo, train to Kyoto and then a bus down to Osaka to pick up Miles and continue riding south. Am needing around $500 extra this month so if your purse strings aren't too tight, I'll gladly take the help.
But enough talk about money.
Let’s go to Nepal!
Cool, right?
I hope/think so.
(And by the time you read this we’ll be in India—undoubtedly providing plenty of fodder ((among other things)) for the next issue—so wish me luck, as India always has something up its sleeve.)
Speak soon! xxx
