A very big year of some very big adventures:

Oklahoma

Japan

Sri Lanka

Nepal

Mexico

Oklahoma

Mexico

Ireland

France

Morocco

Germany

Austria

Oklahoma

Texas

Jan - Oklahoma

The year begins, as we like it to do, at Mum and Dad's in Tulsa.

Feb - Japan + Sri Lanka

We head back to Tokyo for a quick four-day stop...

... then head down to Sri Lanka where my tuk-tuk driver's license is still valid...

... and pick up one of my favorite people, Olivia, for two weeks of wedding parties and a sc around the island.

Mar - Nepal/Everest Base Camp + Mexico

A successful third summit, as well as (hopefully) having shot enough footage to produce the pilot/spec of Snickers for Sherpas.

We fly from Nepal to Mexico City — a town I immediately fall in love with — and then spend a few more weeks in Oaxaca.

April - Oklahoma

A gorgeous spring spent with these two back home.

May - Oklahoma

A failed attempt at moving back to the US - something I'll try to find a way of writing about someday. But not today.

June - Mexico City + Ireland

A quick 5-day break down in CDMX (quickly becoming a Top Five city for me), then onto...

... a plane with a bike and bags for an adventure I previously thought to be too old for...

... arriving in Donegal, to my friend Ciaràn's beautiful Sliabg Liag Camping - where I planned to spend the summer in my tent, mowing the lawn in exchange for free accommodation.

July - Ireland

More Donegal (the best part of Ireland, IMO)...

And Ciaràn builds me a hiking hut, so I don't have to live in a tent.

Aug - Ireland

I ring in my 49th birthday with many a pint at the pub with Ciaràn, and Brother Max pays me a visit, making this already a wonderful trip around the sun (speaking of which, we had lots!)

Sept - Ireland

I say a sad goodbye to the campsite, Donegal and my wonderful little hiking hut.

Fortunately, my friend Grace shows up in a campervan and we spend a couple of weeks exploring the Wild Atlantic Way.

Oct - Ireland/France/Morocco

We say goodbye to Grace in Cork and hop on a ferry to Brittany, France, where we cycle the west coast - stopping for an adventure in Paris - (all of which is in the YouTube show) before arriving in Montpellier...

... to see my little French nieces and nephew. I store Miles the bike in their shed for the season, and then head off to...

... Fez, Morroco - where we spend 10 days wandering around that huge souq, eating all of the beans and buying all of the bags...

... flying back to Montpelier where I join my French family and head from their home on the coast to their (absolutely breathtaking) chalet in the French Alps, where I get to spend an entire month waking up to this view!

Nov - France/Germany

An entire month. Alone in the Alps. With a fireplace and hikes and seemingly endless wine. This was to be one of my favorite adventures, and am forever grateful to them for allowing me such an incredible place to stop for a while...

... but it was time to go, so said "goodbye" to that tiny piece of heaven, Lus, and boarded a snowy mountain train, early in the morning...

... en route to Freiburg, to see one of my favorite people, M, where we spent the days at all the Christmas Markets, finding all the pastries and listening to "Last Christmas" on repeat.

Dec - Austria & US

Another train - this one, across Austria and to another dear friend, Magdalena, where we Vienna'd for a few days, and then hit the road...

... for an incredible winter Austrian road trip adventure! A country I'd always assumed I'd never get to see properly - due to needing a car + cost - but Magdalena made it all happen, and for this I am eternally grateful. From Austria, we hopped another (few) flight(s), heading back to ...

... Oklahoma for Christmas, with quiet country scenes and all the Mexican foods (+ my gorgeous family).

What an incredible year.
