The world was slowly opening up again, so we spent the year seeing some of the world:

Here's how it went...

Jan - Serbia

Ursula and I ring in the New Year in our gorgeous apartment in Serbia, stay a couple more weeks, then tour the country - eating all the paprikash and finding every wonderful spomenik in sight.

Feb - Serbia + Kosovo

More spomeniks, more churches and into the brave and inspirational country of Kosovo.

Mar - Kosovo, North Macedonia + Albania

Even more spomeniks, a week in Sarajevo, into the underrated North Macedonia for a while and back to Albania - where it all began.

Apr - Istanbul

Back to my favorite city in the world, and to my old neighborhood of Tarlabaşı.

May - Istanbul

Just when the city couldn't be more perfect, Dad and Mum come visit!

June - Istanbul

And then Ursi comes to visit as well!

July - South Africa

One of the wilder months in my life, I finally get down to South Africa - highly enjoying Johannesburg, but then - the night I arrived in Durban - find myself caught in the midst of a near-coup, leaving me and the couple I lived with locked inside our homes with little to no food (the city had been basically looted or burned to the ground). We survived (thanks to their kindness + a wine hookup) and through the clean-up, I met a circle of SA'ns who I became quite close to.

Aug - Cape Town

I fall so in love with this city, it's worth stealing a photo for, in hopes you get down there.

Sept - South Africa...

Another dreamy month in what quickly became one of my Top Five Cities in the world - along with meeting a new friend Gunther and his Defender he had for sale...

More Sept - Greece + Crete

An (anonymous) friend of mine invites me to join she and her crew down in Greece... so I do.

Oct - More Greece + Back to Istanbul

We leave one piece of paradise for another.

Nov - More Istanbul...

I move into the Grand Hotel de Londres hotel as the weather turns absolutely stunning...

More Nov - USA

And then back home to these stunners.

Dec - Oklahoma, Missouri and Texas

We autumn with Mum and Dad, take a roadtrip to Missouri where they met (the actual restaurant of their first date), then down to Texas to see an old friend Symon, then to my old radio station and ending the year with Brother Adam and his famous pizzas.

What a wonderful year.
